National Apology Day

On this, National Apology Day, Speaking Up For You (SUFY) acknowledges and pays respect to the experiences of people who suffered significant abuse and trauma due to past government policies of forced child removal. We commemorate the strength and resilience of Stolen Generation survivors and stand in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise the ongoing impact that forced removals, cultural assimilation and systemic injustices continue to have on the First Nations people of Australia, including the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children currently involved with the child protection system. As an organisation, SUFY is committed to inclusivity and social justice and will continue to work towards reconciliation.
